![]() Marion Police Department is a metro leader among area law enforcement agencies by growing with excellence through an emphasis on employee development and strategic, collaborative partnerships with their community, other City departments and other law enforcement agencies. The department's mission is to effectively use resources to respond, investigate and prevent crime in order to enhance the quality of life and strengthen economic prosperity for our community. Within the patrol and investigations divisions there are many specialty assignments including Narcotics Task Force, Hostage Negotiation, K9 Unit, DARE (Drug Abuse and Resistance Education), SRO (School Resource Officer), Crime Scene Investigation as well as Bomb and Arson Investigation and the SRT (Special Response Team). The agency consists of the following bureaus: administration, patrol and investigations. We employ 48 sworn and 6 civilian employees. The Marion Police Department is led by Chief Mike Kitsmiller and is located at 6315 Highway 151.
